This Is NOT A Book Review

I don't usually do "book reviews" per se, but I came across two books, recently, that have captivated me, and I want to share some of the details with my readers. One of them I'm reading, and one I've them I have not yet, so you can't really call this a review. It's more of a "here's what I'm reading/wanting to read" blog; so I won't even add my own personal twist on the content of the writings. Here are the two books:

The first book is written by a new author by the name of David Platt, and is titled, Radical. There is a video on the author's YouTube channel about the book that really "hooked" me on this little read. From various reviews I've seen online, it appears Platt is compelled that the "American Dream" has blurred the lines between the Church (the body of Christ) and the church (the organization or the building...you pick). I'm anxious to read this, as my experiences in the southeastern U.S. have proven his point to me with little to no effort.

The second book is one of which I have read a few chapters, and one by which I have been extremely convicted. It's titled, "The Hole In Our Gospel" by Richard Stearns. This is a very compelling piece on the need for believers to learn the discipline of sacrifice and how it pertains to living out the Christian life daily. I strongly recommend this one, but few people will actually take it to heart and do something about their own personal comfort zones. :)
