Is The Bible God's Word?
So, I don't recommend watching the entire message from this week's worship gathering, unless you have 55 minutes of free time. Yes, I went longer than our typical, traditional, church-going minds can fathom. And, while apologetic dissertation is implied by the title, I spent more time in this message discussing what the Word of God does and can do in our lives, rather than a strictly textbook defense.
However, if you're really interested in digging into the meat of this topic, I strongly suggest books by Paul E. Little (used in the message), such as "Know What You Believe" and "Know Why You Believe." Also, a suggestion from another attendant at this service was "How To Read The Bible For All It's Worth" by Gordon Fee and Douglas Stuart.
Enjoy the worship from this week (especially if you weren't able to be there with us!), and I look forward to worshiping again with you all tomorrow! (P.s. If you want to watch any of the previous services, they are all at http://www.vimeo.com/plaidradish/videos)

I don't suppose you're podcasting this, are you? I can't remember the last time I was tied to a computer screen for 55 minutes (other than playing WOW once or twice). My ADD sets in after about 3.7 minutes. :-)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this, and judging from your summary it's going to be excellent.
